Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will work on transit facilities and various portfolio projects, coordinating design documents with staff and delivering construction-ready documents.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, researching materials and methodologies, and ensuring compliance with codes while supporting travel up to 10%. A Bachelor’s in Architecture and 3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, program, and formulate building design and prepare design presentation and construction contract documents.
• Coordinate building design and construction documents with architectural and multi‑discipline engineering staff.
• Mentor and guide junior architectural staff on multi‑discipline projects.
• Research and participate in the selection of construction materials, technologies and methodologies for detailing and specifications.
• Compliance with applicable planning, zoning, and building codes and regulations, including coordination with agencies having jurisdiction.
• Collect background project information and documentation including “as‑built” data, including field observation as necessary.
• Review technical submittals for projects under construction.
