Job summary

Dudek is seeking an Archaeologist IV (Project Archaeologist) in its Denver office to lead a range of cultural resources projects across the Mountain West, including CO, NM, UT, and WY. Remote work from within the region is encouraged.

You will coordinate with clients, agencies, and Tribes, and supervise field activities from start to finish. The role requires a graduate degree in archaeology or anthropology, PI qualifications, and multiple years of leadership in field projects.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in archaeology or anthropology.
• Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards for Archaeology.
• Qualified to act as Principal Investigator on ARPA permits in CO/NM/UT/WY.
• 7+ years of consulting experience with PI-level project leadership.
• 5+ years of archaeological field crew supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead cultural resource projects from start to finish.
• Good knowledge of Mountain West archaeology and regulatory guidelines.
• Valid driver's license and active auto liability insurance.
• Physical ability for field equipment and outdoor work.
• Willingness to travel to project locations for extended mobilizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of cultural resources projects including research, survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
• Oversee project completion with client/agency/tribal coordination and field supervision.
• Review field logs, forms, and GIS data for quality control; coordinate with lab processing and curation.
• Author and review technical reports; support hiring efforts and field supervision.
• Collaborate across disciplines and with regional Dudek teams.
