Job summary

Smithsonian Associates is seeking a Supervisory Program Coordinator to lead development, implementation, and evaluation of revenue-generating programs supporting the Smithsonian’s mission.

The role involves supervising a team, planning within the programming matrix, and ensuring programs meet quality and financial goals. Occasional evenings/weekends are required to support events. Based in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate revenue-generating programs aligned with Smithsonian’s mission.
• Lead and supervise Operations Coordinators and program staff.
• Plan programs within the programming matrix and ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor quality, financial viability, and audience response of programs.
• Prepare publication copy, notices of cancellation, and program notes.
• Oversee budgets, forecast expenses, and track expenditures for assigned programs.
• Attend programs to supervise presenters, vendors, and staff as needed.
