Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking a Part-Time Lead Program Instructor to support after-school and youth development programs in the Oakland area. You will lead learning experiences, engage students, and collaborate with families and school staff to foster positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include planning enrichment activities, coaching instructors, and ensuring compliance with safety and program standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 48 college units required.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and TB clearance.
• Ability to work after-school hours through the academic year.
• Minimum of one year of experience with K–12 youth in relevant settings.
• Ability to supervise and engage groups up to 22 students.
• Experience planning and facilitating youth activities.
• Ability to build positive relationships with diverse youth backgrounds.
• Mandated Reporter certification and required trainings.
• Basic proficiency with email, Google Drive, and program platforms.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a safe, welcoming environment for youth.
• Build strong relationships with students and assist at-risk youth.
• Model restorative, trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices.
• Address behavioral concerns, conflicts, and safety incidents professionally.
• Collaborate with families, school staff, and partners.
• Lead planning and implementation of high-quality programs.
• Use data to improve attendance and outcomes.
• Coach instructors in engagement and classroom management.
• Participate in staff training and professional development.
