Job summary

Union Beverage Career Center is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a shift, develop staff, and coordinate with senior management to maximize efficiency and quality on the production line.

The role requires strong communication and teamwork, with a flexible schedule including weekends, and strict adherence to GMPs and safety rules. You will ensure line readiness, manage changeovers, and handle shift hand-offs to maintain continuous production.

Responsibilities

• Train, evaluate and develop team members.
• Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate relevant information to team members; act as interface between senior management and production team.
• Cross train team members to ensure a flexible, motivated workforce.
• Conduct and document disciplinary actions where needed, address attendance, performance or other code of conduct violations.
• Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up and supervise change-overs.
• Start 30 minutes before shift to coordinate activities with outgoing Supervisor.
• Ensure the line is cleared of all product and packaging materials from the previous run.
• Ensure correct and legible bottle, case and pallet coding at all times; train team members to perform ongoing checks.
• Conduct or supervise sanitation procedures (CIP, Kosherization, External Foaming and Sanitizing) to minimize downtime and ensure quality.
• Monitor the production process, make periodic checks and adjust equipment or work practices to maximize production efficiency, yields, quality and safety.
• Manage overall package and product quality to ensure standards and specifications are met; monitor yields and minimize waste.
• Ensure equipment in the area is clean, in working order and safe; assign work to mechanics and document maintenance requests.
• Manage within labor standards and identify opportunities for cost reduction; coordinate daily work-schedule fairness.
• Manage line efficiencies and downtime; maintain Daily Efficiency Reports and Production Reports and identify root causes of downtime.
• Ensure all required operator reports are completed and submitted at shift end.
• Communicate effectively at shift end to ensure proper hand-off.
• Conduct security checks to maintain facility security.
• Follow GMPs, Food Safety Guidelines and Safety Rules in Manufacturing Facility.
• Report any urgent Quality or Food Safety Incidents to Responsible Personnel.
