Job summary

SP Industries Inc. in Vineland, NJ is seeking a Production Supervisor - Hotworking to oversee daily operations in LG Lathe, Quartz Lathe, Shrinking and Tooling.

You will lead a frontline team, drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement, coordinate schedules, and partner with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency. Requirements include 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, a degree in Manufacturing or Engineering preferred, and

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in glass, finishing, or production operations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage daily performance.
• Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic computer skills and experience working with production systems or ERP platforms preferred.
• Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Additional training in leadership, safety, or Lean manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Hotworking production operations across LG Lathe, Quartz Lathe, Shrinking and Tooling.
• Lead and coach production employees and team leads through direction and feedback.
• Execute daily production schedules to meet customer demand and OTD targets.
• Coordinate staffing, materials, equipment, and priorities to maintain continuous production.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, work instructions, process requirements, and specs.
• Track and report KPIs including productivity, yield, scrap, labor efficiency, downtime, and OTD.
• Promote and enforce safety policies, PPE requirements and regulatory standards.
• Support training and cross-training to build flexibility and capability.
• Lead shift startup meetings and communicate priorities and performance results.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and organization.
• Monitor material flow and inventory across Hotworking operations.
• Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to support reliability and improvements.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
• Identify Lean process improvements and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Monitor capacity and staffing; report risks to leadership.
• Support succession planning and develop bench strength within Hotworking.
• Develop a strong, accountable team focused on safety and quality.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration to improve plant performance.
