Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Akron shift (12 hours, 8AM-8PM Mon-Wed) to lead production and maintenance, ensure safety, and drive performance. The role requires guiding a team, coordinating schedules, and using SAP for data review and process improvements.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and a hands-on approach to lean manufacturing and quality assurance. Prior shift work and technical proficiency are valued.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership with ability to coach and motivate teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Works well independently and in a team environment.
• Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Experience coaching employees and managing shifts (1-3 years).
• Ability to work midnight shift 11pm-7am.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to production and maintenance personnel.
• Develop team goals and objectives.
• Follow policies and procedures; hold team accountable.
• Act as main safety contact for shift to keep the team safe.
• Manage daily production schedule; optimize productivity and quality.
• Use Lean Six Sigma to manage and improve performance.
• Review production data in SAP and implement changes.
• Establish measures and objectives for the team.
• Hold regular safety and team meetings.
• Train employees using the skills training and verification process.
• Coordinate shift maintenance duties.
• Coach and discipline employees as necessary.
• Ensure product meets all quality standards.
