Insight Global is seeking an experienced Marine Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of four senior accountants at one of Houston's top oil and gas companies. This role involves overseeing daily crude marine volume actualizations and general accounting processes, guiding the team in researching volume discrepancies, and ensuring volume actualization and settlement processes are accurate and timely.

Responsibilities include:

1. Reviewing cash forecasts to improve the accuracy of a three-month outlook.
2. Providing working capital variance explanations to the treasury.
3. Supporting the resolution of aged receivables and payables.
4. Performing month-end closing procedures, ensuring reports are submitted on time.
5. Analyzing inventory to explain volumetric variances between current, prior, and forecasted months.
6. Reviewing and addressing account reconciliations.
7. Collaborating with the financial analysis team for balance sheet, income statement analysis, and margin tie-outs.
8. Building strong relationships across front office, mid-office, credit, and treasury teams.

This role requires a proven leader with excellent communication skills, a background in marine, crude, or commodity accounting, and the ability to interact effectively with high-level executives. Offering a flexible 9/80 hybrid schedule, this position requires only 6-8 days per month in the office. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience in the energy marketing industry.
• Experience as a supervisor for marine and/or crude team that does volume actualizations or settlements.
• Knowledge of fundamental accounting skills: General ledger, inventory, account reconciliations.
• Proficient in Excel doing pivot tables, mining/manipulating data.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years in the energy marketing industry.
• 3-5+ years as a supervisor for a team handling marine or crude accounting.
• Acquired a CPA.
• Acquired a master's degree.
• Excellent communicator and ability to speak to high level executives daily.
