Job summary

Uber is seeking a Lead Product Manager for Autonomous Vehicle Platforms to define how partner vehicles integrate with Uber’s platform and scale globally. You will own vehicle specifications, onboard hardware and software interfaces, and drive decisions with OEM partners and internal teams.

This role requires leadership across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software domains, with strong communication and a track record of delivering complex hardware-to-market products.

Qualifications

• Experience building complex hardware or vehicle products from prototype through production.
• Experience working with OEMs and/or Tier 1 suppliers to define requirements and manage interfaces.
• Strong technical fluency in vehicle systems and architecture across mechanical, electrical, embedded and software domains.
• Ability to independently own ambiguous, cross‑functional initiatives and drive them to execution.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, including senior-level navigation.
• Up to 40% travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform strategy and requirements for Autonomous Vehicle Platforms, defining what partner vehicles must support.
• Define and maintain minimum vehicle specifications across OEM partnerships and vehicle programs.
• Own evolving vehicle platform requirements across onboard hardware, embedded software, interfaces, and core system architecture.
• Partner with business development and vehicle strategy teams to align on cost and capability trade-offs.
• Serve as the primary technical product representative in partner and OEM engagements.
• Drive trade-off decisions across cost, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, scalability, and performance.
• Build mechanisms for execution at scale: requirements documents, interface definitions, decision frameworks, readiness criteria.
• Communicate roadmap direction and risks clearly to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
