Job summary

Klein Tools is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead design, development and improvement of tools-focused products. You will act as a technical leader, guiding projects to on-time delivery within the product development framework.

You will independently solve engineering problems, coordinate with internal teams and vendors, mentor engineers, and communicate complex concepts through presentations and data analyses to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or program with three (3) or more years of direct work experience in the area.
• Must have excellent technical, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Must possess a solid understanding of new product development and new product introduction.
• Must possess a large spectrum of academic engineering principles and a basic understanding of business-related initiatives.
• Must have demonstrated experience facilitating complex projects and solutions with multiple interactions.
• Must have conflict resolution skills and demonstrated team leadership experience.
• Must have strong oral and written skills with the ability to present both technical analysis and financial based justifications allowing further decision making within all levels of the organization.
• Ability to function in an environment of changing priorities, goals, and direction often amid stressful conditions and under time constraints.
• Strong team focus and the ability to work with others, both internal and external to the organization.
• This role requires international travel; candidates must be willing and able to travel internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and improvement of products.
• Decide engineering problems and methods independently.
• Provide innovation by driving product improvements and developing cutting-edge solutions.
• Coordinate with internal customers and vendor representatives to ensure design adherence to user needs.
• Mentor other engineers and communicate complex concepts through presentations.
• Manage multiple medium to high priority projects and delegate work as needed.
• Conduct feasibility studies and review design, development plans and cost estimates.
• Develop high-level CAD models, 2D drawings, and perform FEA as required.
