Job summary

3M is seeking a Senior Product Development and Support Engineer to lead technical efforts for new product development and provide engineering support for core product lines. The role requires driving design changes, regulatory alignment, and cost reduction while guiding teams across multiple geographies.

You will collaborate with customers and internal teams, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and contribute to product roadmaps. On-site in Red Wing, MN with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Three years of Product Development, Product Design, or Product Engineering experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to new product development programs and contribute to roadmaps.
• Maintain global design control and provide product engineering support for an assigned core product portfolio.
• Lead product design change management related to product and quality improvements, supplier changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction.
• Drive continuous improvement using PM, Six Sigma, and DOE/statistical analysis.
• Establish or verify product specifications through test data, regulatory understanding and customer feedback.
• Provide technical support to customers, distributors and internal teams; troubleshoot and guide product use.
• Prepare clear and concise technical documentation for internal and external use.
• Collaborate across geographies, promote teamwork and cross-cultural collaboration.
