Job summary

LHH US in Indianapolis seeks a Design Engineer to lead product development from concept through commercial launch, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a manufacturing setting and delivering robust CAD models and detailed documentation. This role is onsite in Indianapolis 4–5 days per week.

Requires a Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related engineering discipline and a minimum of 3+ years of design engineering experience within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of Design Engineering experience within a manufacturing facility is required.
• Must have experience leading products through concept, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
• Must have experience with CAD design, engineering documentation, and quality systems.
• Ideal candidates will have experience within highly regulated environments.
• Experience collaborating with global engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain teams is preferred.
• Strong project ownership and cross-functional leadership abilities are preferred.
• Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills are preferred.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills are preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from concept through commercial launch.
• Create engineering designs and detailed CAD models for new products.
• Develop and refine prototypes to evaluate performance and functionality.
• Support research, development, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Design verification and validation test plans and protocols.
• Analyze testing data and recommend product enhancements.
• Generate and maintain quality documentation and technical records.
• Create engineering procedures, work instructions, and standardized processes.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments, and cross-functional project meetings.
• Ensure product designs support manufacturability and efficient production processes.
• Prepare engineering documentation for product transfer into production.
• Collaborate with quality, operations, and supply chain teams throughout development.
• Support intellectual property activities, invention disclosures, and patent documentation.
• Coordinate with domestic and international engineering resources on development projects.
• Communicate project status, risks, and technical findings to multi-disciplinary teams.
