Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own Interstate, the B2B design system that underpins Cox's B2B products. You will be the senior voice on the system and guide its evolution across teams and products.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build tools, components, and AI-enabled tooling that raise quality and speed, while mentoring others and shaping the system's future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years' experience, or equivalent combinations.
• Systems thinking and ability to explain design patterns and governance.
• Demonstrated craft in visuals and interactions with attention to detail.
• High agency, influence, and ability to shape product direction.
• Experience with AI-assisted design and design tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Interstate guidelines, tokens, and components.
• Set design direction for new features linked to product value.
• Define quality, accessibility, and usability standards across teams.
• Create patterns that scale across products and user types.
• Define rules for contribution, versioning, and depreciation.
• Shape the design side of Interstate's AI tooling and UIs.
• Spot opportunities, collaborate with product, design, and engineering.
• Mentor designers to raise overall design judgment.
