Job summary

Waymo is seeking a senior leader for Product Data Science who will set the vision for a team of data scientists and drive optimization, statistical modelling, and production-grade ML across Waymo's commercial operations.

Reporting to a Director, Product Data Science, you will partner with engineering, product, marketing, and strategy to prioritize work, influence decision-making, and scale the Waymo Driver program.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of team management experience.
• 5+ years of experience with optimization and building OR models in production.
• Statistical knowledge/data intuition.
• Ability to structure and solve ambiguous problems.
• Coding skills and experience: Python, SQL and data science related coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision for a team of Product Data Scientists.
• Lead the team to execute on the vision as the company scales its commercial operations and ML output.
• Analyze complex operational and commercial data to improve performance as Waymo scales its AV business.
• Partner with senior management and stakeholders to gain cross-functional alignment.
• Manage prioritization of team resources to collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Product, Strategy, Finance.
