Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Produce Department Manager to lead daily produce operations, ensure freshness, quality, presentation, and customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. You will help oversee merchandising programs, rotate stock, and maintain safe, inviting displays for shoppers.

You will also assist with coaching associates, planning labor, and ensuring compliance with food-safety standards while delivering strong results and building a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Assist daily produce operations with focus on freshness and display quality.
• Provide knowledgeable, friendly service and strong product knowledge to customers.
• Support corporate merchandising programs, planograms and seasonal displays.
• Maintain fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays.
• Assist with rotation, waste reduction, and food-safety compliance.
• Assist with labor scheduling and coaching of associates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Produce Department operations with emphasis on freshness and customer service.
• Ensure associates deliver knowledgeable service and maintain product knowledge.
• Execute merchandising plans, planograms, and seasonal displays.
• Keep displays clean, fresh, and visually appealing at all times.
• Manage rotation, inspect for damaged items, and uphold freshness standards.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and food-safety practices.
• Help control shrink through inventory practices and loss prevention.
• Assist with training and developing produce staff and maintaining a positive team.
• Perform department duties as needed and stand in for the Produce Manager when required.
