Job summary

Baker Hughes Company in Houston is seeking a Lead Procurement Specialist to manage the buying process for a defined set of goods and interface between suppliers and the entity on specs and budgets.

You will lead PO activities from RFQ through fulfillment, maintain supplier relationships, and advise project teams on procurement strategies. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and timely delivery within an energy-industry context.

Qualifications

Lead Procurement Specialist

Partner with the best As a Lead Procurement Specialist you will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. You will apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Managing PO, from RFQ (request for quote), negotiation, PO placement, maintenance and follow up/fulfillment.
• Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution.
• Manage problems and schedule changes.
• Update ERP.
• Advising Functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures in the own field.
• Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered.
• Contributing to project as a team member or leading small projects.
• Work goals typically take 3-6 months to complete with results/impact typically occurring 2-12 months after the event.

Requirements

• Have considerable experience within direct sourcing, procurement and supply chain.
• Preferably within a Manufacturing or Engineering, Oil and Gas Business.
• Looking for candidates with experience in SAP/ Oracle.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as established interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Have a permanent work permit in UK.
