Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Procurement Specialist to manage the buying process for assigned goods, applying sourcing policies and interfacing between supplier and entity regarding specifications and budgets.

You will lead submissions from RFQ through negotiation to PO placement, ensuring timely fulfillment and ERP updates, while guiding functional managers on projects and processes within the procurement and supply chain domain.

Qualifications

• Have considerable experience within direct sourcing, procurement and supply chain, preferably in Manufacturing or Engineering, Oil and Gas.
• Experience with SAP or Oracle is desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Permanent work permit in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Manage PO process from RFQ to placement, maintenance and fulfillment; maintain supplier relationships for PO execution and ERP updates.
• Advise functional managers on projects, processes and procedures in the field.
• Coordinate communications with colleagues and the business on design and coordination services rendered.
• Contribute as a team member or lead small projects with results typically 2–12 months after initiation.

As a Lead Procurement Specialist you will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. You will apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.

As a Lead Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for:

• Managing PO, from RFQ (request for quote), negotiation, PO placement, maintenance and follow up/fulfillment. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes. Update ERP.
• Advising Functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures in the own field.
• Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered.
• Contributing to project as a team member or leading small projects. Work goals typically take 3-6 months to complete with results/impact typically occurring 2-12 months after the event

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have considerable experience within direct sourcing, procurement and supply chain. Preferably within a Manufacturing or Engineering, Oil and Gas Business.
• Looking for candidates with experience in SAP/ Oracle
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as established interpersonal and leadership skills
• Have a permanent work permit in UK
