Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Sourcing Professional - Buying/Procurement to manage defined material purchases and supplier relationships with a focus on on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.

You will schedule raw material receipts, issue POs, monitor supplier performance, and coordinate with supply chain/engineering to meet production demands in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS diploma/GED with 4+ years in Manufacturing or Materials capacity is required.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and SAP enhances candidacy (APICS training is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Interface with production and suppliers to schedule receipt of raw materials to meet demand.
• Issue purchase orders following sound purchasing practices and regulations.
• Identify and manage material plans not meeting customer requirements with clear communication to leadership.
• Develop supplier relationships and delivery/inventory metrics aligned to plan.
• Monitor corrective actions and supplier change controls; coordinate with suppliers as needed.
• Ensure on-time delivery to customers by executing necessary tasks.

Partner with the best

You will oversee the effective purchasing of defined work, accurate status reporting, control and expedite in a professional manner in accordance with Strategy. You must have the skills, knowledge, and experience to be able to manage material purchasing needs and multiple suppliers; plus, familiarity with engineering bills of material, documents, control drawings and QA requirements to meet customer needs.

As a Sourcing Professional - Buying/Procurement, you will be responsible for:

• Interfacing with production/suppliers to schedule the receipt of raw material to meet production demand and ensuring the timely execution of MRP signals minimizing/managing potential line downs.


• Issuing purchase orders using sound purchasing practices ensuring applicable company and government regulations are followed.


• Identifying and managing material plans that do not meet customer requirements with clear communication to materials leadership shaping resolution.


• Developing supplier relationships and building supplier delivery and inventory metrics accurate to plan.


• Monitoring implementation of corrective action plans.


• Monitoring and controlling engineering change for cut-over plans, as well as supporting coordination of supply chain/engineering with the suppliers if necessary.


• Meeting the requirements of customer on-time delivery through tasks necessary to succeed.

• Have bachelor's degree or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Materials capacity.


• Have the ability to manage multiple tasks, establish effective work priorities, create improvement, have persuasive and resilient nature.

• Have solid oral, written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Desired Characteristics

• Have the knowledge/understanding of ERP systems and/or SAP experience.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $62,310.00 - $115,510.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes’ good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time.
