Job summary

Laborup in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Process Engineering Manager with deep experience in barrier films, metallized films, flexible packaging, or related roll-to-roll converting processes.

This hands-on technical leadership role acts as a technical authority across metallizing, slitting, process development, quality, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, while guiding a team of technicians and coordinating with Production, Maintenance, and Quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry-specific experience in barrier films and related processes.
• Strong knowledge of barrier-film manufacturing and converting.
• Hands-on experience with process control and root-cause analysis.
• Experience collaborating with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Supervisory or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization: Improve metallizing, slitting, and related converting processes for better quality and throughput.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Production Support: Provide hands-on technical support to resolve manufacturing challenges.
• R&D & Product Development: Lead new projects from concept to production release.
• Laboratory & Barrier Testing: Perform testing and coordinate external testing.
• Customer Technical Support: Assist Sales and customers with technical questions and claims.
• Equipment & Continuous Improvement: Support equipment upgrades and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain TS, regulatory docs, and testing records.
• Training & Leadership: Train operators and supervise quality control and product development staff.
