Job summary

Larson Engineering, Inc. in Norcross, GA seeks an experienced Project Engineer to lead front-end engineering and detailed design across processing facilities including pulp & paper, chemical processing, power, and heavy industrial manufacturing.

You will independently guide technical design, manage client relationships, mentor staff, and coordinate with vendors, ensuring high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 8+ years of progressive design engineering experience on multidisciplinary industrial projects.
• Strong proficiency in process piping design, fluid systems, P&IDs and related deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead process-mechanical engineering tasks for industrial projects (pulp & paper, chemical, power, manufacturing).
• Develop conceptual designs, equipment layouts, PFDs and P&IDs; perform calculations and sizing.
• Develop capital cost estimates, schedules and material specs; manage scopes and budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with vendors and contractors; support client relationships.
• Travel to client sites as needed (typically <25%), support business development.
