Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead a team of process engineers, advance licensor packages to FEED quality, and support large capital projects across refining, LNG, and petrochemicals.

The role covers process simulations, PFD development, hydraulics, vessel sizing, relief and flare calculations, and coordination with high-value centers, with emphasis on delivering safe, design-basis documentation and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering required.
• Master’s degree in chemical engineering preferred.
• Minimum eight years of experience; average 10–20 years.
• Experience leading process engineering teams on licensor packages.
• Experience with FEED-quality licensor packages.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of process engineers to advance licensor packages to FEED quality.
• Executing licensor packages for downstream steam cracker aromatics units.
• Creating process simulations and heat and material balances.
• Developing PFDs and coordinating with HVECs.
• Performing hydraulics calculations and P&ID development.
• Conducting overpressure and relief calculations including flare sizing.
• Producing process design basis documents and narratives.
• Managing workgroup schedules and project budgets.
