Qualifications

• Education: high school level typically acquired through completion of high school.
• Two years of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation, including one year equivalent to Cook E6.
• Felony/misdemeanor history policies: applicants may be screened out per Public Act 191 of 2017; surrendering prior convictions affects eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead workers and oversee prisoner workers in the preparation and service of meals for prisoners and staff.
• Follow MDOC standardized processes, recipes, menus and reports.
• All new employees will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) and additional online training as required.
