Job summary

Nscale in Seattle is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the Fleet Manager platform, a workflow automation system that provisions, tests, and remediates GPU nodes at scale. You’ll own architecture and delivery of Python-based automation that manages the compute lifecycle, from enrolment to self-healing.

You’ll mentor senior engineers, set technical direction, and partner with Infra, Platform, and SRE teams to build reliable, scalable systems using AI tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Strong Python fundamentals and leadership of multi-service distributed systems.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and workflow tooling at scale.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate development workflows.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and roadmap for Fleet Manager’s workflow automation systems.
• Own end-to-end delivery of device provisioning, validation, testing, and remediation workflows at scale.
• Design and build workflow orchestration systems for GPU node and network switch lifecycle management.
• Establish engineering standards for reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Mentor senior engineers and drive technical direction with hands-on collaboration.
• Drive architecture decisions balancing automation complexity, reliability, and maintainability.
• Integrate with infrastructure tooling and partner with Infra, Platform, and SRE teams.
• Build production-grade Python systems for hardware lifecycle automation with AI acceleration.
