Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Seattle is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to own end-to-end fault prevention across hardware, firmware, kernel, and software. You will build automation replacing manual toil and drive self-healing for AI/ML accelerator fleets at cloud scale.

The role spans PCIe topology, GPU diagnostics, Linux drivers, and telemetry pipelines with a focus on preventing customer-impacting failures and collaborating across ODMs, datacenter ops, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.
• 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of Linux/Unix operating systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and own automation infrastructure for accelerator fleet health at scale.
• Design test frameworks, coverage strategies, and diagnostic tooling.
• Develop predictive failure detection using telemetry and logs.
• Create monitoring dashboards and alerts for fleet health.
• Define metrics like failure rates, MTTD, and first-time fix rate.
• Debug complex system-level issues across compute, GPU, and networking in production.
• Perform root cause analysis across firmware, kernel, and drivers.
• Design scalable test automation for hardware bring-up and regression.
• Build data pipelines to identify systemic yield issues and drive fixes.
• Develop and maintain Linux device drivers on ARM and x86.
