Job summary
Archer, in collaboration with Oracle, seeks an engineering leader to design and operate highly scalable distributed systems powering OCI Networking. You will shape architecture, drive control and management services, and collaborate across OCI to deliver cloud-scale networking capabilities.
The role demands strong software design, CS fundamentals, and a track record of technical leadership in large-scale systems. A BS/MS in CS or related field is required, with experience mentoring teams.
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
- Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, software design.
- Experience with network configuration management is highly desirable.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, deployment workflows.
- Experience designing highly available, production-grade distributed services at scale.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-team initiatives.
- BS or MS in CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Networking is the foundation that enables customers to run mission-critical workloads at global cloud scale. We're rearchitecting OCI's network control and management systems from the ground up to support the next generation of networking services. This is a unique opportunity to influence the architecture of one of the world's largest cloud networking platforms. We're looking for engineers with strong computer science fundamentals, a deep understanding of control and management plane architecture, and a passion for building large-scale distributed systems to join our technical leadership team. Our team develops the core infrastructure that powers OCI Networking's control and management services, solving complex challenges in network configuration management at cloud scale. You'll collaborate across OCI Networking and Infrastructure teams to shape the future of OCI Networking.
- Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and evolution of highly scalable distributed systems that power OCI Networking.

- Experience building and operating modern CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployment workflows for large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience designing, building, and operating highly available, production-grade distributed services at scale.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including driving architecture, mentoring engineers, and leading cross-team technical initiatives.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $135,200 to $306,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

- Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
