Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, counseling, social work, or a related field and three years of professional criminal justice-related experience; or any combination of related training and experience.
• Applicants within six months of meeting the minimum education/experience requirement may be considered for trainee status.
• Successful completion of all applicable background checks pre-hire and ongoing are required.
• Must successfully complete level 2 local, state, and national criminal history and fingerprint checks.
• Must obtain the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies (NAPSA) CPSP certification for release within one year of employment and maintain certification; recertification required every three years.
• Must be a current Alachua County BoCC employee to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervises pretrial release investigations or conditional release.
• Supervises, coordinates, coaches, motivates, and develops staff; establishes work procedures and schedules; reviews work; conducts performance reviews.
• Provides operational assistance during high First Appearance volume, staffing shortages, emergencies, or other circumstances.
• Monitors data entry into applicable criminal justice and case management systems for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and submits reports and other information related to Pretrial, GPS, TAD, and Day Reporting Program operations.
• Develops goals and objectives for program area with a higher-level supervisor and sets priorities to achieve them.
• Represents the agency at meetings and coordinates with various criminal justice agencies.
