Job summary

Heartland Label Printers a Division of Iconex is seeking a Lead Press Operator to oversee production on a shift, drive CI projects, and lead safety training. The role emphasizes maintaining quality and safety while coordinating with maintenance and other departments.

You will help deploy resources to meet schedules and mentor teammates in a fast-paced printing/coating environment. The position requires High School Diploma or GED, machine operator experience in printing/packaging, and leadership

Qualifications

• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Lean Manufacturing/CI experience preferred.
• Basic math skills including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and specs.
• Effective verbal and written communication; able to train others.
• Strong teamwork and positive attitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety training and CI activities across production.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and maintain 6S in production areas.
• Operate/assist on coaters, presses, slitters, turrets, or finishing equipment.
• Support setup/changeovers, packing, and material handling.
• Conduct quality audits and sign off on related paperwork.
• Develop and implement standard work and training materials.
• Lead shift huddles and communication across departments.
• Allocate resources to maintain production schedules.
• Assist maintenance on PMs/repairs as needed.
• Onboard new business and interact with vendors on CI ideas.
