Job summary

The Learning Experience – Clarkston is seeking an experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to create an engaging classroom where children build confidence, independence, and early academic skills for kindergarten. Location: Clarkston, MI.

Schedule: full-time, Monday–Friday. You will own a classroom, design meaningful learning experiences, and partner with families and fellow teachers while implementing LEAP curriculum and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Professional preschool or childcare experience required.
• Lead Teacher experience preferred.
• CDA or ECE coursework strongly preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily preschool classroom routines and learning activities.
• Implement The Learning Experience's LEAP Curriculum.
• Support early literacy, math, language, creativity, and social-emotional development.
• Encourage independence, problem-solving, and positive peer relationships.
• Guide and support Assistant Teachers.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom.
• Observe children's development and communicate regularly with families.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
