Job summary

Stepping Stones Learning Center in Michigan is seeking a dependable, caring, energetic Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team. The role involves leading the preschool classroom, planning developmentally appropriate activities, and maintaining a safe, nurturing learning environment.

You will supervise staff, ensure proper child-to-staff ratios, complete observations and records, and communicate with families.

Qualifications

• Meet Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements for a Lead Teacher.
• Age at least 19 years.
• High school diploma or GED.
• One of Michigan's approved Lead Teacher pathways.
• Pathway 1: Experience with MiRegistry training requirements.
• Pathway 3: Credential/degree options such as CDA or higher.
• 6 hours MiRegistry-approved training in specified areas.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
• Provide experiences supporting development across domains (social, emotional, cognitive, language, physical).
• Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming classroom.
• Maintain required child-to-staff ratio.
• Complete observations, documentation, and assessments.
• Communicate professionally with parents about child progress and concerns.
• Follow health, safety, and licensing procedures.
• Adhere to Stepping Stones Learning Center policies and Michigan licensing rules.
