Job summary

The Westport Weston Family YMCA is seeking a Lead Teacher for its preschool program in Westport, CT. You will lead daily classroom routines, create play-based lesson plans, and ensure a safe, inclusive setting for children aged three to five.

Collaborate with the teaching team and administration to support family relationships and high-quality programming aligned with the YMCA values. Required are 3 years of childcare experience, preschool experience, and the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of childcare experience required.
• Experience with preschool-aged children.
• Fluent in English; Spanish preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom routines and care for children ages three through five.
• Develop and implement play-based lesson plans aligned with children's interests.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Provide active supervision and accurate child counts during all activities and transitions.
• Prepare, clean, and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and spaces.
• Guide Assistant Teachers and coordinate classroom assignments and routines.
