The Weston School is seeking a Lead Teacher to manage and operate the classroom, developing a robust curriculum and guiding the Assistant Teacher. You will collaborate with leadership and families to ensure each child is prepared for kindergarten, while maintaining a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include planning weekly lessons, assessing progress, communicating with families, and ensuring compliance with state licensing and program guidelines.

Qualifications

• CDA required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
• Proven experience in early childhood education, with a demonstrated ability to lead a classroom.
• Reliable transportation required; valid driver’s license preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.

Responsabilités

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with state standards.
• Develop and use weekly lesson plans focusing on colors, shapes, numbers, literacy and physical development.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain portfolios per company standards.
• Communicate with parents; conduct bi-annual conferences on progress and strategies for home support.
• Ensure compliance with Indiana licensing, CACFP, and Paths to Quality guidelines.
• Mentor and guide the Assistant Teacher; collaborate with center leadership and families.
• Attend events, staff meetings, and contribute to a positive team environment.
