Job summary

CP Preparatory School in Mesquite, TX seeks an Assistant Preschool Teacher to support the classroom team in creating a safe, engaging environment where children can learn and grow. You’ll assist with daily activities, supervision, and curriculum delivery under the lead teacher, helping ensure a smooth classroom experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or similar setting preferred.
• Basic understanding of classroom procedures and willingness to learn state licensing and compliance requirements.
• Must meet all state-specific education, certification (including CPR/First Aid, where required), licensing, and regulatory requirements, including the ability to pass a background check and complete ongoing professional development.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with children, families, and team members.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for all children.
• Support daily activities and curriculum implementation alongside the lead teacher.
• Provide active supervision, ensuring safety and compliance with required ratios.
• Support children's development through positive guidance, interaction, and play.
• Assist with classroom routines, organization, and communication with families, while supporting overall school operations.
