Job summary

Willamette Family Inc. in Oregon seeks a Lead Teacher to develop daily plans, curriculum, and activities for children from 6 weeks to 6 years, working with a team to meet standards and foster inclusive learning.

The position requires at least one year in a certified early childhood program, and participation in state background checks and ORO registrations. Benefits include health, retirement, and paid time off within a supportive nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• One year or more of experience in a certified early childhood program (6 weeks to 6 years).
• Currently enrolled in the Oregon Child Care Division’s Criminal Background Registry (CBR).
• Enrolled in the Oregon Registry Online and possess a step number (Step 6 or higher).
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily plans reflecting mandated elements and parental/cultural influences.
• Meet diverse needs with developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
• Lead individualized and group activities reflecting children's needs and strengths.
• Supervise children to ensure a safe environment.
• Foster parental involvement and communication.
• Respond to emergencies including first aid/CPR.
• Organize classroom space to encourage exploration and learning.
