Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) seeks a Teacher for 3- and 4-year-old classrooms in Wadesboro, NC. You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, create engaging centers, and monitor children's progress within Head Start guidelines.

Qualifications

• Teacher I qualifications include A.A. in Early Childhood Development or related field.
• Teacher II qualifications include B.A. in Early Childhood Development or related field.
• Experience working in preschool or early childhood settings.
• CPR and First Aid certification required, or ability to obtain.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and staff.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities
• Create engaging learning environments and functional learning centers
• Monitor and assess children’s developmental progress
• Maintain accurate classroom and child assessment records
• Partner with families through conferences, communication, and home visits
• Supervise children in classroom, outdoor, and meal settings
• Collaborate with Assistant Teachers, specialists, and support staff
• Support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and CACFP requirements
