Lead Preschool Teacher

We are excited to bring a new teacher into our wonderful community! We are hoping to hire someone who will contribute to healthy mental and emotional development of the children in our care and create joyful experiences each day.

We are proud to have a small, one-classroom school which allows us to create close relationships with the children and families in our care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Planning lessons that target specific skills and concepts, managing classroom behavior to keep all students engaged in the lesson, and providing individual support and feedback for their students.
2. Developing and maintaining a curriculum that is fun and educational for 3-5-year-old children.
3. Ensuring that the school is fostering an environment that is inviting and nurturing for the children.
4. Employing a variety of educational techniques.
5. Encouraging children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
6. Organizing nap and snack hours and supervising children to ensure they are safe at all times.
7. Tracking children’s progress and reporting to parents.
8. Communicating with parents regularly.
9. Maintaining a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

Skills

1. Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
2. Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
3. Excellent communication and instructional skills.
4. Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable.
5. Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold and the Creative Curriculum is not required, but is a great addition.

Qualifications: ECT Qualified

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From $21-25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
