Job summary

Community Action Agency is hiring for an Entry level Preschool Teacher in Jackson, MI. You will plan and implement a preschool classroom in line with Head Start, GSRP and MDHHS licensing, supervising a teacher assistant and childcare aide to support daily activities.

You will collaborate with program staff and community partners to meet Head Start/GSRP objectives, maintain data, and support family engagement while ensuring a safe, respectful learning environment.

Qualifications

• Education details and experience as specified in the job posting.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and classroom management.
• Good reading, math, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a preschool classroom in compliance with Head Start, GSRP and MDHHS licensing.
• Lead classroom operations including supervision of aides and volunteers.
• Develop developmentally appropriate lesson plans and assess children with proper data.
• Foster positive relationships with children and families and coordinate with staff.
• Ensure health, safety and confidentiality in all activities.
• Work with team to engage parents in program activities.
• Adhere to agency policies and participate in meetings and trainings.
