Job summary

Climbing Tree Community School in Arizona is seeking teachers to join a veteran staff and enhance the community with their talents. The Teacher will develop a cohesive teaching team, coordinate the curriculum, and manage day-to-day classroom operations to create a safe, engaging learning environment.

The role requires understanding child development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains, and the ability to guide assistants and address parental concerns.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood or a closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a preschool, pre-k or kindergarten setting.
  • Experience with Quality First Assessment, NAEYC Accreditation, or similar high-quality assessment.
  • Ability to obtain a Level One Clearance Card
  • Nice To Haves: Level B1 or higher on AZ Childcare Workforce Registry

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

About This Role

Climbing Tree Community School, an Early Learning Center provides a supportive community in which young children expand their learning and development. Our curriculum is child-centered and focuses on play as a dynamic form of learning that involves a wide range of intellectual, social, emotional, and physical capabilities.

We are a Quality First school that incorporates a child-centered, play-based philosophy and curriculum. We serve children ages 3-6 only and have low teacher to child ratios. We are looking for teachers to join our veteran staff of educators and enhance our strong community with their individual talents.

Position Overview

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.

Hours will vary depending on the needs of the school. Our hours of operation are 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. New teachers can expect to work between 20-40 hours each week.
