Job summary

Climbing Tree Community School, an Early Learning Center, seeks a Teacher Assistant to support a positive classroom environment where children explore, learn, and grow under guided curriculum and daily activities.

Role emphasizes collaboration with staff, communication with families, and ongoing professional development. A minimum of 2 years preschool experience and an Associate’s Degree in ECE (30 ECE credits) are required, with CPR/First Aid certification and background clearance necessary.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in ECE or related field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional preschool or pre-k experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check and have a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must have experience with Quality First at the Four or Five Star level or NAEYC assessment.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

About This Role

The Teacher Assistant is responsible for supporting a positive and engaging classroom environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. Teachers work collaboratively to implement curriculum, guide daily classroom activities, and meet the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of each child. Effective communication with children, colleagues, and families is essential to support student learning, foster teamwork, and maintain a nurturing and safe classroom community.
