Job description

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher to join our preschool teaching team. Candidates must have two+ years of experience working with young children (preferably between the ages of 3 & 5), be a team player, high energy & able to multi-task. Candidates must have at least an Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Children & Families & qualify as a Group Supervisors with DHS to be considered. There is room for advancement in this position.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with co-teachers to plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
• Help create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for preschoolers.
• Supervise, engage & assist children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
• Provide individual and group support to children as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress.
• Complete observations & assessments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Have two years of experience working with young children (2500 hours).
• Must qualify as a Group Supervisor or higher with the Dept. of Human Services.
• Must have AT LEAST an Associate's degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Children & Families.
• Able to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
• Be 18 years or older and able to work in the United States.
• Be able to pass a drug test.
• Have experience in a leadership role.
• A love for children and a desire to work with preschoolers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
• Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Position Overview:

• There is room for advancement in this position, as a mentor & potentially a future administrator. Candidates who take on additional responsibilities are given additional compensation.
• This is a full-time position, but Bright Light full-time staff work a 4-day work week.
• The pay range starts at $18 up to $19.50 per hour ($35,500 - $38,500 annually), relative to experience & education with an additional pay increase based on performance at the end of a 90-day probation period.
• Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick pay, vision & dental benefits, annual raises, reduced child care & more.
