We help child care providers learn about best practices in early learning and apply them to the care children receive. Position Description:

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and teach an age-appropriate curriculum based on RIELDS standards and the learning and developmental needs of children in the classroom.
2. Establish and adhere to developmentally and educationally age-appropriate daily schedules and routines.
3. Model positive, motivating, and encouraging behavior that will guide our preschoolers to be independent and self-motivating.
4. Maintain a classroom that is clean, safe, and well organized, as well as the shared spaces outside of the room.
5. Establish positive relationships and lines of communication with the families of their students and other families in the school.
6. Establish a plan for behavior management using age-appropriate and positive discipline techniques.
7. Prepare, set up, deliver, and clean up all classroom lessons and activities daily.
8. Follow and enforce all center safety rules, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and care for all students.
9. Participate in staff meetings.
10. Complete 20 hours of approved professional development each year.

Qualifications:

1. Prior preschool teaching experience in a daycare or school setting with lead teaching experience is preferred.
2. At least 18 years of age.
3. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
4. Credits in Early Childhood Courses preferred.
5. RIELDS Certificate or willing to obtain one.
6. Active First Aid/CPR Certification or willing to take the course.
7. Flexible Availability.

Compensation:
Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour (determined based upon education and experience working with children).
