Job summary

TOBSchool in Franklin, TN is seeking a Lead Teacher to guide a classroom of 3- and 4-year-olds. You will design engaging, play-based lessons, ensure a safe learning environment, and partner with families to support individual development.

Required: 2+ years in licensed childcare; high school diploma or CDA/AS in Early Childhood Education preferred. CPR/First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain them are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or Associate degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of lead or assistant teaching experience in licensed childcare.
• Knowledge of toddler/preschool developmental milestones; CPR/First Aid certs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a play-based curriculum for ages 3–4.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom meeting state standards.
• Assess and document student progress; share milestones with parents.
• Lead and mentor assistant teachers for cohesive classroom management.
• Support potty training, social interactions, and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with assistants and school leadership.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to guide our energetic classroom of three and four-year-olds in Franklin, TN. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters cognitive, social, and emotional growth during these critical formative years. You will design engaging lesson plans, manage classroom dynamics, and build strong partnerships with families to support each child's unique development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a play-based curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of children ages 3-4.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that meets state licensing standards.
• Assess and document individual student progress, sharing regular updates and milestone achievements with parents.
• Lead and mentor assistant teachers to ensure cohesive classroom management and a supportive team dynamic.
• Guide children through potty training, social interactions, and emotional regulation with patience and positive reinforcement.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers and school leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed childcare facility.
• Deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and cognitive milestones of toddlers and young children.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting as required by the state of Tennessee.
• Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them prior to start date.

• Salary:$22-$24/hr. Fixed salary after 6 months of employment
