Job summary

Puebloymca in Pueblo West, CO is hiring for a childcare leadership role dedicated to guiding 3-5 year olds through engaging activities. You will lead the classroom and supporting staff, ensure a clean and safe environment, and apply the YMCA curriculum with a focus on respectful, responsible behavior.

CPR/First Aid certification and licensing knowledge are required. Qualifications include a minimum age of 21, CDA or higher credentials and Colorado Director Qualified options.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, direction and supervision to children 3-5 years of age during large and small group activities.
• Provides leadership to supporting staff: Support Staff management with Time, Attendance, and subbing needs.
• Provides and is responsible for maintaining a clean environment in the classroom and other areas utilized for classroom use.
• Applies educational curriculum to the classroom.
• Fosters positive relationships with all children and families through providing age-appropriate discipline that maintains respect for the child and open communication with families.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
• Possess a cooperative spirit committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to staff, lay leaders, YMCA members, program participants and the community.
• Ability to lead a classroom and staff.
• Knowledge of licensing requirements and regulations.
• Skilled in organizing and executing age-appropriate activities for children.
• Meet one of the following education requirements:
  • Current Early Childhood Professional credential level III version 2.0 as determined by the Colorado Department of Education
  • Child Development Associate (CDA)
  • B.A. in early childhood education
  • B.A. in elementary education
  • B.A. in special education
  • Colorado Director Qualified
