Job summary

Evans General Contractors, LLC is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead the preparation of complete, accurate estimates on large, complex projects. You will define standards and procedures for pursuits and build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business/finance or related field preferred but not required.
• Able to lead the design-build project delivery method with clear role definitions and coordination.
• Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability to change, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic, accountability and ability to work independently or in teams.
• Builds effective relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop, compile and review project information to determine pertinent criteria.
• Lead pursuits with internal and external resources to develop comprehensive proposals; produce schedules, clarifications and drawings.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimates for large and complex projects across design stages.
• Review final estimates for completeness and accuracy.
• Lead and participate in client presentations and value engineering discussions.
• Solicit and evaluate proposals from vendors, suppliers and subcontractors on complex scopes.
• Assist operations with subcontractor procurement and calendar planning.
• Collaborate with design and operations teams to ensure design adheres to budget and criteria.
• Review awarded projects against as-sold estimates to confirm accuracy.
• Mentor and train estimators and preconstruction engineers.
