Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction or similar with 8+ years experience or equivalent
• Experience in project engineering, field supervision or purchasing
• Reading and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work and project schedule
• Familiar with estimating documents and able to analyze them qualitatively and quantitatively
• Ability to work with minimal information and understand owner/architect requirements
• Project management of competing demands and meeting deadlines
• Supervisory or management experience
• Proficient with MS Office and estimating software; travel required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Preconstruction Manager in estimating functions during the preconstruction phase launch
• Coordinate trade partner bid lists with procurement for pricing and bidding
• Lead review meetings with owner, architect and engineer for Preconstruction phase
• Prepare comparison analyses to explain variances to stakeholders
• Review design documents for completion and request necessary information
• Visit project sites to evaluate conditions and capture scope not in designs
• Perform quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates for assigned trades and systems
• Provide pricing for value engineering, alternates, options and studies
• Use BIM for quantity take-off and visualization to support estimates
• Prepare bid proposal forms and bid sheets; evaluate trade partner input for scope
• Ensure pricing reflects latest data; participate in GMP/estimate reviews
• Lead or support Lump Sum bid process
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback for direct reports
