Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to act as the outside eye for owner and agency projects. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs, and ensure finished products meet shop drawings and specifications.

You will maintain QC records, supervise Level I inspectors, and help advance to higher inspector roles.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current, with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specifications for the state.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to enforce specifications when schedule demands arise.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification and tensioning.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
• Review inspectors' records and ensure compliance.
• Act as outside eye on owner/agency projects with documented decisions.
