The Goddard School of South Loop in Chicago seeks a Lead Pre-K Teacher to guide four- and five-year-olds toward confident readiness for Kindergarten. This role emphasizes building curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth, not just academics.

As a Lead Pre-K Teacher you will own your classroom, plan meaningful activities, and collaborate with families and staff to support each child's thriving, joyful learning journey.

Qualifications

• Genuine enjoyment of working with four- and five-year-olds.
• Warm, patient, and nurturing while maintaining classroom expectations.
• Understanding of child development and Kindergarten readiness.
• Ability to balance purposeful teaching with play, exploration and child-led learning.
• Willingness to learn, receptive to feedback and committed to growth.

Responsabilités

• Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families.
• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate Pre-K learning experiences.
• Support literacy, early math, science, writing, communication, social-emotional development and executive functioning skills.
• Help children develop independence with routines and self-help skills.
• Observe and document children's developmental and academic progress.
• Lead and guide supporting teachers to maintain classroom routines and expectations.
• Collaborate with school leadership on each child's transition to Kindergarten.
• Participate in school events and professional development.
