Job summary

Alpha is hiring full-time, on-site Pre-K teachers in Manhattan, New York or Chicago, Illinois. Join a school that treats early childhood education as a profession, with relocation assistance and a clear focus on emotional safety, exploration, and measurable growth.

You will design rich, play-based experiences that build literacy, numeracy, and social development, while collaborating with families to support each child's development in and beyond the classroom.

Qualifications

• Work full-time, on-site at Manhattan, NYC or Chicago, IL with relocation assistance.
• An associate degree or higher, or any US state teaching license/certification.
• At least 2 years of experience with children ages 3-5 in a structured, play-based setting.
• Experience documenting developmental milestones using a structured framework (e.g., Teaching Strategies GOLD, ASQ, HighScope COR).
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• For Chicago opening, Montessori certificate or reading specialist experience.

Responsibilities

• Design joyful, sensory-rich learning experiences building early literacy, numeracy, self-regulation and social development.
• Create a classroom where every child feels emotionally safe, known, and excited to attend school daily.
• Observe development in real time and document progress to personalize learning.
• Adjust activities to each child's interests and developmental needs for measurable progress.
• Partner with families to share growth milestones and support development beyond the classroom.
