Job summary

Urban Sprouts Child Development Center in St. Louis, MO seeks an Early Childhood Educator to lead a Reggio Emilia–inspired preschool classroom.

You will design emergent, project-based curriculum, supervise daily operations, and partner with families to support each child’s development. This role emphasizes collaboration with Co‑Teachers, documentation of learning, and professional growth within a mission-driven program that values inquiry, reflection, and community.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an early childhood classroom.
• Experience leading a classroom or readiness to step into a lead educator role.
• Knowledge of or interest in the Reggio Emilia approach, emergent curriculum, and inquiry-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-quality child care standards grounded in developmentally appropriate practice and aligned with the school’s philosophy and curriculum approach.
• Lead the development and implementation of emergent, project-based curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
• Observe children closely and document learning through photographs, written reflections, and displays that make learning visible.
• Plan intentional provocations and experiences that extend children’s thinking and inquiry.
• Collaborate with the pedagogical team to reflect on curriculum and ensure alignment across classrooms.
