Job summary

Urban Sprouts seeks an Early Childhood Educator to lead daily classroom operations, design emergent curricula, document learning, and foster strong family partnerships. This role reports to the Head of Pedagogy and advances the program’s mission with a collaborative team.

You will manage ratios, lead with co-teachers, and ensure licensing compliance while contributing to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an early childhood classroom.
• Experience leading a classroom or readiness to step into a lead educator role.
• Knowledge of Reggio Emilia approach, emergent curriculum, and inquiry-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-quality child care standards grounded in developmentally appropriate practice.
• Design and maintain an inviting classroom environment reflecting children’s interests.
• Ensure safety, supervision, and well-being of all children.
• Maintain attendance, incident reports, and required documentation per licensing.
• Lead emergent, project-based curriculum inspired by Reggio Emilia.
• Document learning through photos, reflections, and displays.
