Job summary

Public Service Electric & Gas Co. (PSEG) is seeking a senior electrical engineer to join the Distributed Power Systems Group. The role involves distribution system studies, hosting capacity analysis, DER screening, and power quality investigations, with a strong emphasis on CYME expertise.

The candidate will analyze CYME models, support CYME-based studies, and help develop Power BI dashboards for planners. A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and extensive distribution systems

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Strong knowledge of power flow, short circuit, stability, loss of load, steady state, and transient studies.
Experience with CYME strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Lead investigation and resolution of distribution circuit issues using CYME and data sources like SCADA/AMI.
Conduct distribution power flow analyses and provide actionable recommendations.
Perform CYME-based hosting capacity analysis and support automation of workflows.
Develop Power BI dashboards to support DER screening and hosting capacity processes.
Prepare technical reports, study documents, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement DER integration and operational efforts.
